Byron Bay things to do in September
La Vista Byron Bay
A dream that began in 1984 is today a jewel in Byron Bay’s crown, offering luxury accommodation that is as unique as it is beautiful. With a vision to provide the highest standard of accommodation away from the hustle and bustle of Byron Bay where visitors could experience the magic of being the first to see Australia’s sunrise from the comfort of their bed, this dream has been more than realised.
Five amazing private villas situated on an acre of tropical garden are only five minutes from Byron Bay, yet you feel like you’re a world away from everything. These much talked-about, luxurious villas nestled amongst beautiful gardens feature a stunning hexagon-shaped infinity edge outdoor swimming pool and money can’t buy views over Byron Shire. Each luxurious villa showcasing Australian timber and Italian marble has its own unique character, a view of the majestic 100 year old fig tree, Cape Byron Bay and the lighthouse.
Awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and the Guest Review Award in 2016, this truly magical private retreat draws visitors from every corner of the globe. In a place where a few days feels like a week, incredible sunrises, the stillness of a new dawn, kookaburras laughing from high in the iconic fig tree and the sparkling milky-way in all its glory are just some of the magical moments you will remember for many days to come.

Festivals & Events
Nimbin Blues and Roots Fest – September 15-17.
Over 50 talented artists will perform in Australia’s counter-culture capital for the annual Nimbin Roots Festival from September 15 – 17. After selling out in 2016, this year’s festival is set to be bigger and better than ever. More than 50 acts have been announced including an array of styles, from politically charged folk pop from Kahl Wallis to the sweet alt-Country sounds of Paul Greene.
This year’s line-up will see a diverse mix of local, national, and international musicians and artists perform Americana, Bluegrass, Folk, Australiana, Old Blues, and world music. American group The War and Treaty will share their Gospel style tunes, while the brand new Aquarius Stage will showcase Nimbin’s finest.
As well as the musicians, the Nimbin Roots Festival has invited a number of visual artists to display their unique work in the festival gallery. Art installations, interactive artworks, and themed camping also feature throughout the festival venues and campsite.
The Abundance Village will host a number of exciting workshops, including yoga, philosophy, permaculture, live art, weaving, poetry, belly dancing, body art, and kids’ activities. And, a community market area will host up to 30 colourful market stalls where festivalgoers can pick up a piece of Nimbin to take home with them.
