Sights to See between Byron Bay to Gold Coast Airport

Even with the excitement of a trip to the airport – whether for a business trip or a holiday – it’s nice to think that the journey from Byron Bay to Gold Coast airport is an interesting one.

At Byron bay Luxe Limousines, unless forced by circumstances, always take the direct route to the airport which means the road that runs parallel to one of the most beautiful coastlines in New South Wales – the M1, aka the Pacific Motorway.

You can sit back and relax in our comforting limo, watching the sights go by on your journey which takes roughly an hour.

Brunswick Heads

One of the popular seaside towns you’ll pass right through is Brunswick Heads. This is a little town with a big heart known for its eclectic shopping. It is surrounded by gorgeous natural attractions including the Brunswick River and the two main beaches. The M1 runs right through the town before it passes through the nature reserve.

Brunswick Heads Nature Reserve

This small reserve on both sides of the Brunswick River covers over 229 hectares and contains an intact segment of litterol (nearshore) rainforest. You might spot laurel, myrtle, quince, Moreton Bay fig, and lilly pilly trees among the rare specimens. The biggest joy though, would be to spot a humpback whale just off the coast.

Billynudgel Nature Reserve

Between Ocean Shores and Yelgun, you’ll drive by another of the Gold Coast’s hinterland nature reserves. Covering an area of 769 hectares, it is a popular bushwalking area with various trails through the coastal vegetation and along South Golden Beach.

Barney’s Point Bridge

The M1 runs over this bridge which crosses the Tweed River south of Tweed Heads. From the bridge you can see Lillies Island in Chinderah Bay to the West and Tims Island to the northeast.

Tweed Heads

Just south of Coolangatta Airport, the area around Tweed Heads is one of the most interesting geographical areas on your route. As well as the beautiful coast with its lovely beaches, the Tweed River creates some lovely features including various headlands. If you’re lucky you might spot Fingal Head Lighthouse or Point Danger Lookout. Keep an eye out for dolphins frolicking in the shallow waters off the beaches.

This is just a small selection of some of the sights you’ll see on your journey from Byron Bay to Gold Coast Airport. There’s always a lot going on so be sure to book with us to enjoy the experience of the Pacific Motorway traveling from Gold Coast Airport to Byron Bay.
